Leadership 2020-2021
w/COVID 19

The "new" normal of Student Government

This page has been developed to assist, brainstorm, and execute the new normal for leadership programs with the COVID 19 virus. It will be updated as knowledge is gained and actions to prepare for the future have occurred. The goal is to guide students and help advisors with their own "new normal" on their campus.

Zoom Meeting #1 - Occurred May 27th, 2020

Goals of the meeting & tasks for students to complete:
1. Communication is KEY!
    a. Make sure everyone is on the Remind account for Leadership.
    b. Set up and get each student in the program on google classroom.
    c. Create a group email list, send test email so that students know you will send information through email
    d. ASB Administrative Coordinator to create a google excel form for the class with the following data:
        - Name, Position, Email, Phone number, and birthday

2. Leadership clothing
    a. Discuss and review correct spelling of names & positions on polo and check sizes on all items.
    b. Review cost of clothing, get order processed, will discuss payment of clothing when school is back in session in the fall.

3. Get to know...who???
    a. Our incoming freshmen spent a few moments sharing a bit about themselves, where they came from and an interesting fact.
The goal, to begin getting to know one another, even if it is virtually at this time.

4. Begin job/position research
    a. Students will review past student's digital portfolio to gain insight on the position itself, advise given by past leaders, and get
some perspective of events that are completed on our campus.
    b. The digital portfolio is a great resume developer for any student in the program while helping to "teach" others about a new
         position they may hold.
    c. Some example include:
        Natalie Betoshana - Coronation Commissioner:
http://nataliebetoshana.weebly.com/
Kassidy Isham - Public Relations Commissioner: http://kassidyisham.weebly.com/

Portfolio Adaptation 2020-2021

The Legacy Portfolio

Leadership offers many essential lessons that you will take with you beyond the walls of RHS. In order to reflect upon the many lessons that you will become skilled at, you will be required to produce a leadership portfolio. This assignment is a key component to the A-G College Prep approval process.

This portfolio will be a part of your grade throughout the year. You will have directions regarding each page along with due dates. You must keep this important portfolio organized and fully complete with each due date.

As one of your final projects in leadership, you will be passing on the knowledge and ideas that you have built over this past year to next year’s class. This portfolio is based off of the knowledge gained and events completed this current year. Not data, photos, information will be accepted from years past.

Follow this step by step directive that will explain what is required for each page of the portfolio along with the due date. NO LATE work will be accepted and if this assignment is incomplete at the end of each semester, your grade will be significantly affected.

This will be a tool that will be passed onto future generations and a useful digital resume for employers and colleges. Keep in mind all components must be completed. Renaissance late passes will be accepted if student speaks to Mrs. Mortensen privately.

Please note - with our new style of learning, pages will be created differently. We may have more, or less. Please be patient and adapt as needed with this important work.
