Carmen Simon is a senior at Ripon High School, a.k.a. The World’s Greatest High School. She plans on making the absolute most out of her senior year as ASB President. Her main goal in the Leadership class is to lead the program to be inclusive, creative, fun, and completely kink free. Individually speaking, she wants to be somebody that is seen as a friend by all, someone who is always leading spirit, and a ray of positivity. When asked what her motivation is, she said, “Life is what you make it and that is why I strive to show everyone how to make the most of it”. Outside of Leadership Carmen enjoys cheerleading and coaching the Ripon Chiefs Varsity cheer team. She is also in Girl’s League, CSF, Multicultural Club, and she is planning on starting a club of her own this year! She loves her job working events at Redwood Cafe, as it allows her to practice her leadership skills in the real world. She also gets tons of free food! Carmen is unsure of what is ahead of her after high school. Maybe she will become a psychologist, or an actress, or a manager, or a director, or an event planner.

Niki Nguyen is a Junior at Ripon High who aspires to be a positive role model and the change in her high school. Holding the position of ASB Vice President, Niki is actively involved in her leadership class and the school. It is in her hope that she can one day be ASB President of Ripon High, so she is determined to utilize the skills she learns this year for the next. Niki enjoys taking multiple AP and honors classes because she finds that she enjoys the challenge and the knowledge she obtains at the end of the school year. Outside of leadership, Niki plays the piano using it as an outlet to express her emotions. In addition, she fuels her passion for dentistry by shadowing two oral surgeons. Despite blood, she is fascinated with extractions and implants. Niki also loves her job and Co workers at Juice it up in Ripon stating that “it almost feels like too much fun to be work.” In the future, Niki hopes to score a high enough SAT and ACT score to be recognized by her dream school UCLA. It is in her hopes to attend UCLA for her bachelors degree majoring in biology and then applying for dental school at UOP. Her ultimate goal is to not just become a general dentist or oral surgeon, but to reach a level of balance in her life where she feels fulfilled and happy.

Kate Villegas is a junior at Ripon High School. She holds the role of ASB Administrative Coordinator within Leadership. She is responsible for taking notes for student council meetings, managing all ASB budgets with the bookkeeper, organizing events at Ripon High, and for additional ASB executive duties. Kate has heavy involvement in Ripon High’s Science Olympiad Club, Multicultural Club, and Yoga/Pilates Club. She runs cross country in the fall season and track & field in the spring season. Kate also enjoys spending her time volunteering at Memorial Medical Center every week. This year Kate is aiming toward both growth educationally and within her passions. She strives to constantly develop new friendships and to help others feel loved and appreciated. Kate plans on attending a community college, transferring to a 4-year for her undergraduate, and later receiving her higher education degrees. She takes an interest in international studies, environmentalism, and cultural & linguistic studies, and would love to have a career that incorporates these interests. Kate is very thankful for the ASB program. She knows that the principles it has taught her will guide her in her professional and personal lives.

Gianna Brocchini is a senior at Ripon High School this year. Her goal for this year is to try and enjoy every moment as a senior, make new friends, and maintain a 4.0 GPA. Gianna holds the position of ASB Executive Student Board Member and is also the treasurer of the United Club, involved in AP classes, link crew, and sports. Gianna is most excited to see how her class bonds during their last year at rallies, dances, and other school events (especially homecoming). She feels honored to be working with the great people on the Ripon Unified school board and hopes to learn new skills from her experience. Her goals for the future include attending a 4-year university and major in Psychology to pursue the career as a psychiatrist. She encourages her fellow students at Ripon High to get involved and have fun because 4 years goes by very fast.

Ana Perez is currently senior class president at Ripon High School. She is president of the Sacred Heart Club and involved with numerous other organizations at school such as Link Crew, CSF, and the Multicultural Appreciation Club. She is excited for a fun senior year with her peers and hopes to make as many memories as possible with the people that she loves. Her favorite event at Ripon High is Homecoming even if it can get a little stressful. In the future, Ana hopes to attend a good university, she does not know exactly what she wants to do, but she wants to help others.

Aiko DeArth is a senior at Ripon High School this year and is Vice President of the senior class. This year is her second year in the leadership program and her goal for the class is to work hard for an amazing and memorable senior year for the class of 2020. Aside from leadership, she participates in numerous clubs, volunteering at her school and community, sports, and music. One of her passions is being apart of the Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra, where she plays first violin. Her main goals for this year personally are to maintain a high GPA, put everything she has into getting into a good university, and to do so while upholding her mental health. Hopefully after her final year of high school she will continue on to do great things in the medical field. Helping people where it is needed most is one of her goals for life.

Evan Johnson is a Senior this year. His goal for the year is for him to keep a 4.0 GPA and to find a college or university successfully. Evan is involved in Leadership, AP classes, Pride Tribe, and Link Crew. Outside of school Evan volunteers for his church and refs for the Ripon soccer rec league, Parkview’s soccer games, and Ripon's coed league. This year Evan is the Senior Administrative Assistant and is working with the Senior officer team to make sure this year runs as smoothly as possible. Evan’s goals for the future include graduating from high school, attending a college or university in either California, Arizona, Washington, or New York where he plans to major in Physical Therapy.

Molly Ysit is a senior at Ripon High. This year, her goal is to make this year memorable. Molly is involved in CSF, Link Crew, Pride Tribe, United, volleyball, Block R, and tennis. As the senior class publicity officer, her responsibilities include getting the seniors excited for upcoming events, going all out for spirit days, and working with the class officers for events. After high school, Molly hopes to attend a college where she will obtain her BSN, become an RN, then have and support a happy family.

Gabriel Herrera is this year’s Junior Class President. Despite the fabled busyness of the infamous junior year, Gabriel plans to take these alleged challenges in stride and commit to making this his come-back year. In leadership, Gabriel is going to step it up! He wants each event he plans to one-up the one of the year before and challenge himself in the process. Beyond student government, Gabriel holds other leadership positions in various organizations around campus He is the Co-President of Sacred Heart Catholic Club and a board member of Science Olympiad, as well as a member of Multicultural Acceptance Club (MAC). Being the well-seasoned student that he is, Gabriel also plays the bass clarinet in the Ripon High School Pep and Concerts Bands, and is rumored to want to start a mariachi. One of his biggest fears for his come-back year is rejoining sports. A former three-season athlete, he hopes to participate at least two this year, wrestling and tennis, along with the conditional commitment of “getting swole”. Gabriel hopes to balance these responsibilities and aspirations alongside with his heavy academic course load and his volunteering and humanitarian efforts. Outside of Ripon High, Gabriel volunteers at his local Catholic parishes and is an avid blood donor, with goals to reach a gallon of total blood donations before his eighteenth birthday. As for plans after high school, Gabriel is extremely uncertain, but he is sure that he would like to continue his education at a four-year university and join a motorcycle gang, pending his mom lets his get a motorcycle license.

Gracie Jaime is going into her junior year of high school. This year she holds the position of Junior Class Vice President. With this being her third year of leadership, Gracie is excited for the role she has to fulfill. Gracie is ready to be an upperclassman and is looking forward to conducting Prom. Outside of leadership, Gracie is involved in various clubs such as Science Olympiad, GSA, and Yoga Club. Her goal this year is to manage her AP classes along with enjoying the upperclassmen festivities. Gracie’s end goal after high school is to attend a University of California School and eventually become a United Nations Delegate.

Jacob Curless is currently a Junior at Ripon High School. Jacob currently holds the position of Junior class administrative assistant for the 2019-2020 school year. Jacobs goal for the school year is to spread positivity and help everyone who needs help. Jacob loves his school and wants every event to perform successfully and with Sigh School spirit counts from every class. Apart from leadership Curless participants in football, wrestling, track and field, link crew, and CSF. Curless doesn’t know the exact career path that he wants to pursue yet but he knows that he wants to go into the medical field to help people everyday.

Gianna Welsh is a junior here at Ripon High School, and holds the role of class publicity officer in our student government class, so she is in charge of promoting spirit events and showcasing a positive school culture. Gianna is apart of link crew, pride tribe, and volunteers at a law office. In the future Gianna plans on attending medical school after college to become a general and trauma surgeon. Gianna has many goals for this year, a few being to uphold a good GPA throughout, maintain and radiate positivity throughout her fast and furious junior year, and get more sleep.

Naomi Wilbur is the Sophomore Class President this year at Ripon High. She is really looking forward to this school year because everyone says that sophomore year is the most fun year of high school. Naomi is also really excited to work with her officer team to plan Winter Formal this year. She hopes that she is able to encourage her class to be more spirited. Naomi is the Vice President of Girls League and she is an active member in the RHS Dance Club. Outside of school and leadership, Naomi spends a lot of her time at her dance studio. She has been dancing at 5678 Dance Studio for 13 years. She has been on the competition team for 8 years there. Naomi is a Junior Instructor at the dance studio and she teaches dancers from ages 7 to 12. Naomi loves spending time at the dance studio with her best friends that she has been dancing with her whole life. After high school Naomi would like to go to college and move to a big city. She wants to see where dance will take her and maybe be a Radio City Rockette one day. Naomi is excited to spend time with her friends, work hard, and enjoy her sophomore year!

Emma Phelps is the sophomore class Vice President here at Ripon High School. She says her goals for this year are to get to know each and every class member in her grade and her leadership classmates. Along with getting to know more students, she would also like to stay on track and always remind herself to not stress and stay positive. She hopes for upcoming activities to run smoothly, more class involvement, and spirit shown all through Ripon High. After school Emma is involved in clubs, sports, and raising animals for an FFA project. She is apart of Pride Tribe, Yoga Club, Soccer, Softball, and FFA. After High School she is still not sure what she would like to pursue in, however, she would like to attend a four year college. Emma has an interest in design, animals, and the human body and hopes to have all of those throughout life. Throughout her journey she would love to travel the world and meet all of her hopes and dreams she has wished for.

Avery Redula is the sophomore’s administrative assistant. She is responsible for purchase orders, cash box forms, budgeting, and fundraising. She is also involved with organizing homecoming, winter formal, winterfest, and coin wars. Her goal for the school year is to stay on top of all her homework, and to work hard to make leadership events successful. Avery is on the tennis team and is involved in clubs such as Girls League and Pride Tribe. She hopes to become more involved this year by joining the Multicultural club, CSF, and more. Avery wishes to attend a UC four-year college, preferably UCLA. She is thinking of majoring in political science. Overall, Avery wishes to be successful with her mindset and become a more positive person as a long term goal.

Bryan Ochoa is the Sophomore Class Publicity Officer this year at Ripon High. He hopes to make this year a fantastic year. His goal this year is to encourage people to get involved. He wants to see a highly spirited school where most students are participating in events. Bryan is excited to work with others and form bonds with his fellow peers. Bryan takes AP and Honors classes and hopes to excel in all his classes. Bryan is bilingual and can speak both Spanish and English. By being able to speak both Spanish and English he hopes to create a welcoming environment for all and to get rid of any language barriers. Bryan is not sure what career he would like to pursue, but he hopes to move to a big city. Bryan wants to help others and is excited to be a part of Leadership.

Abigail Campos is a Ripon High freshman representative for the class of 2023. She would like this year to be memorable and exciting. Abby hopes that she will learn many things this year, so that she can use what she knows to help others. Her goal is to become more involved in school and to bring new ideas into leadership. Abby was in student council for her eighth grade. She planned many events as well as showed school spirit and intends to continue doing so in high school. She plans to help encourage other students to be more spirited and engaged in school. Abby enjoys playing volleyball and basketball. She also loves music and plays the piano. Abby is excited to start this new chapter in her life and hopes to make this school year enjoyable not just for herself but other students.

David Wang is a currently a freshman at Ripon High. His goal for this year is to be helpful to others and to spread a positive attitude throughout campus. David is striving to maintain a 4.0 GPA and will get involved in many clubs, events, and activities both in RHS and in the Ripon community. He has a strong passion for water sports, and is looking forward to water polo and swimming at RHS. Outside of school, he is involved in many organizations such as CACC Chinese School and Modesto Academy of Music and Design. David’s responsibility as a leadership freshman representative is to serve as a spokesperson for the Class of 2023. He, along with the other freshman class officers, will run many events at RHS such as preparing our homecoming float, organizing Winterfest, and coordinating dances. This year, he would like to see a close bond and a spirited attitude within our school. In the future, David hopes to attend a college in a major city at a prestigious university. For now though, he wishes to have a great time in the 2019-2020 school year.

Jaydin Kroutil is a freshman at Ripon High School. She holds the position of Freshmen Representative in the Leadership program at school where she serves her peers everyday. Jaydin and her seven other representatives are required to sell T-shirts, plan homecoming, a dance, Winterfest, and the Staff and Student Basketball game. As a new freshman to Ripon High School, Jaydin plans to be on the school soccer team and tennis team as well as many clubs. One club she is most excited for is Girl's League. She comes to school everyday determined to be the best she can be. Always keeping a smile on her face and a hard working attitude, she accomplishes many things around campus. Outside of school activities, Jaydin plays on a travel soccer team and is involved in her church youth group where they are constantly serving others. Jaydin looks forward to four great years at Ripon High School.

Gabriella Delgado is one of the many qualified students proudly representing RHS, and the class of 2023. She promoted with the highest GPA allowed in her eighth grade class at Ripon Elementary School. Gabby hopes to participate in multiple clubs and sports, such as track and field and basketball. Art (painting, sketching and coloring), sports, and socializing are some of her favorite things to do in the little spare time she has. As a Freshman Representative, she wants to break apart the ongoing tradition of new Freshman not being involved or spirited. Yes, Freshmen are the underdogs, but they don’t have to look like it! Gabby knows her job has been fulfilled when her fellow classmates have told her that they have had an awesome, activity fulfilled year, with more appreciation for school spirit. Her long term goal is to attend a 4+ year college, get a job she loves, and hopefully retire, happy with the path she took in life. She is so happy to be apart of such a wonderful program, this year will not disappoint.

Makenzie Loechler is a new and upcoming freshmen with large goals and a positive attitude. She is joining the leadership program this year as a Freshman Representative and plans on continuing her journey through leadership for the four years she is attending Ripon High. Makenzie’s plans for the year is to enjoy everyday and meet it with a bubbly personality and a warm smile. She is ready to take on any new challenges thrown at her this school year. Makenzie is ready to work and help as much as possible on school events this year including, rallies, dances, homecoming, and any other event the school is planning. She envelopes herself in Ripon High by being apart of sports such as volleyball, basketball, and track and also, by participating in clubs and other extracurriculars. Makenzie has her work cut out for her this year thanks to taking one AP class and two honors courses, on top of three sports and participating in events in and outside of Ripon High. She is hoping her peers, family, and teachers support and help through this crucial time in her life. She gets involved with the community by volunteering many hours to the city of Ripon by doing activities such as helping clear out the recycling center, and cleaning up the city. Makenzie’s overall goal for the year is to make as many new friends as possible and to exceed any expectations set for her.

Gabriella Ilardi is a freshman representative in Ripon High’s 2019-2020 leadership class. She shares her position with 7 other freshman representatives equally. They all represent their freshman class, by being extremely spirited and being a positive role model at school. Gabriella and her fellow representatives will organize and plan their t-shirt sales during Pow Wow and Club Rush, their homecoming float and lip-sync dance for the night rally, and the Halloween dance. She aspires to play golf and soccer this year, and hopefully help her golf team go to sections. She also hopes to get more involved this year, whether it is by joining a club or two. Other then getting involved, Gabriella hopes to develop mentally and learn more leadership skills including public speaking, collaborating with peers, communicating important information with ASB and Mrs. Mortensen, and organization. Gabriella also hopes to make genuine connections with the people in her classes, especially leadership because they are her new family. For her life after high school, she hopes to get a golf scholarship and play at a four year college. She hopes to study in biology, but she has not completely decided yet. For now, Gabriella is only worried about getting through this year by passing all her classes and enjoying the new environment of high school.

Cade Kiser is a freshman at Ripon High School. This year, he is proud to be a Freshman Representative in Leadership. Cade will be working on many school projects including Homecoming, the Halloween dance, and Winterfest. Besides Leadership, Cade is involved in sports which include basketball and football. He hopes to find a club or two to join at Ripon High. His goal for this year is to transition into high school easily, reach out to students that he is unfamiliar with, and expand his comfort zone. Cade will strive to continue to get excellent grades. In the future, he sees himself going to a four year college. One of Cade’s passions is traveling, and next summer he is looking forward to spending three weeks in Europe. His life long goal is to focus less on the small stuff and not let anxiety define him.

Kade Nelson is a freshman at Ripon High School. He holds the position of freshman class representative. He and seven other freshman representatives are in charge of their homecoming. He is currently participating in football at Ripon High School and he hopes to play soccer and track later in the year. Kade is interested in joining clubs this year. This year Kade hopes to stay positive as well as positively impact everyone he crosses paths with. He hopes to grow close with all his fellow classmates and he hopes he can earn the trust of Ripon High’s leadership team. Kade hopes to learn a lot from this year, not only from success but also from failure. Kade plans to go to college after high school, he would like to become a financial advisor. Kade is looking forward to the upcoming experiences this year.

Alyssa is our Historian Commissioner for the 2019-2020 leadership team, which means she is responsible for taking pictures at all events and making a scrapbook of all leadership memories for the end of the year. Along with this, she must update the Spirit Boxes in the office as well. She is currently a senior here at Ripon High, and is excited for the upcoming school year ahead. Her goal for this year is to stimulate a more inclusive environment here at Ripon High so all who step onto campus feel safe and excited to be a part of the tribe. Alyssa has been involved with many activities at Ripon High. Some of which include Leadership, Link Crew, Pride Tribe, AP classes, and CSF. She also holds a leadership position in the Multicultural Acceptance Club, Girl’s League, and Scrubs Club. Every month she dedicates time to being involved with the Ripon Vocational Leadership Academy, and loves to put on fundraisers for different charities. Her favorite fundraiser she was involved in was the neighborhood food drive the Multicultural Club put on in January to help the Salvation Army. Ultimately, she hopes to major in biomedical sciences at a 4 year university, and from there hopes to go on to medical school to pursue her passion for healing people. Outside of School she also hopes to start a nonprofit organization to help the homeless population or begin a foundation to help Alzheimer’s research.

Nico Ilardi is going into his senior year at Ripon High. His goal for this year is to balance school, sports, and fun as he has a very busy schedule. Along with leadership, Nico plays football, basketball, and golf, is in the band, and is involved in clubs. He is looking forward to being spirited and going all out for dress up days this year. His position in leadership is Athletics Commissioner, his second year doing so. As a legacy, he feels that he is a role model for the younger kids in leadership and someone they can turn to for help. A goal that Nico has for his future is to make a positive impact in the world, whatever his career may be.

Malery States is a junior at Ripon High School. She is the Athletic Commissioner and puts on the events Powderpuff and the Dodgeball tournament. Malery's goal is to bring a positive attitude this year and spread it among many others. Malery is involved in the basketball and track program, where she plans to bring her leadership skills in play to make both sports better. She is also involved in Link Crew, Pride Tribe, and Block R. Malery loves going to various school events such as dances, football and volleyball games, and night rallies. She hopes to help with other leadership and club activities. Malery looks forward to eventually attending University of Nebraska and studying Sports Medicine. Malery plans on helping others to have a positive impact on the world. Leadership has already opened many doors for Malery and she can't wait for what the future holds.

Kassidy Isham is a senior at Ripon High. Her position in the 2019-2020 leadership class is public relation coordinator. Her duties include but are not limited to writing for the school website, taking inventory of leadership supplies, organizing events on school calendar, and collecting ACE of the month nominations. She is involved in golf, soccer, pride tribe, link crew, and many other things here at RHS. Her goal is to make the most of her last year in high school and make everybody feel like a somebody. She will work hard to maintain good grades. In the future she would like to go to college and become a nurse practitioner. She enjoys traveling and adventuring as much as possible. Her life long goal is to find true happiness and live a life full of love and mindfulness.

Jaynell Mora is this years Public Relations Coordinator and is currently a senior at Ripon High School. Her duties include but are not limited to writing for the school website, taking inventory of leadership supplies, organizing events on school calendar, and collecting ACE of the month nominations. Her goal this year is to maintain a 4.0 GPA, to successfully manage club events as she holds an officer position in Girls League and Multicultural Club and to work alongside Kassidy Isham in Student Council. She’s also involved in multiple AP courses, has a part time job as a waitress, and participates in other clubs such as Link Crew, CSF and Pride Tribe. She hopes for a spirited and memorable school year and she keeps a positive and open attitude. After high school Jaynell plans to attend a 4 year university here in California. Although she doesn’t know exactly what major she wants to study she knows she wants to further education in Math and Sciences. Possibly in the STEM field.

Royce Kinsey is a senior at Ripon High School. He is involved with Leadership, Link Crew, CSF, Block R, Renaissance, Pride Tribe, Cross Country, and Track. Royce is the Rally Commissioner this year and this is his second year holding the position. His position description enlists that he has to plan and be the MC at every rally with his little buddy Laila Irigoyen! His main goal is to blow up and act like he don’t know nobody hahaha just kidding. Royce’s goals are to achieve an acceptable GPA, try to manage his time as perfect as possible as he has a lot on his plate, and to enjoy every second of his senior year because this is the last year you will hear “YEAHHH BABY!” or “AYE!!!” from him. Royce is excited for the black light rally as it was a success last year and the back to school dance because it’s always a good time and it brings the school together. After high school, Royce is planning go to a Junior College for a couple years then transfer to a UC. He wants to make an impact and be a positive role model for those who look up to him. No matter what his career will be, we all know he’ll always be on a shopping spree.

Laila Irigoyen is currently a junior at Ripon High School and Rally Commissioner for the 2019-20 Leadership program. She MC’s and plans all rallies put on by Leadership and works to spread positivity and spirit throughout campus. Laila tries to be a joyful and genuine friend to everyone she meets and works hard to a better version of herself everyday. Her goal this year is to have more student participation in school events and share her excitement and love for Ripon High. Laila is also extremely involved outside of Leadership with varsity track and cross country. She is also apart of Bug Club, CSF, Science Olympiad, Pride Tribe, and is even the President of United Club. Outside of school, Laila volunteers at Assemblyman Heath Flora’s office and as a nursery aide for Renew Church. Laila is extremely passionate about running and hopes to receive an academic and/or athletic scholarship to get into one of her dream colleges. She has been extremely dedicated to her sport and is hoping to continue running in college where she wishes to study law. No matter where life takes her, she will always trust in God and stay true to herself.

Caryssa McKeon is one of our Spirit Publicity coordinators, she is currently a senior and this is her fourth year in leadership and her third year in a spirit position. Caryssa has been highly involved throughout the last three years at Ripon High, she has been apart of many programs including the volleyball team, Pride Tribe, Girls League, Block R, CSF, Link Crew and United. Caryssa’s goal as a senior and fourth year leadership student is to truly leave an impact on campus and be a role model to others. She would like people to view her as a fun, outgoing and supportive friend on campus. Caryssa loves spending time with her friends and has spent countless hours participating in school events varying from sports games, dances, rallies and social events in general. Caryssa’s goals after high school include earning a volleyball scholarship in California and then she plans to go to school for her masters. She is still unsure what she would like to do with her life specifically, but she has always had a passion for the medical field because she loves helping people. Leadership has greatly affected Caryssa’s high school experience and she claims that it would not have been the same without being apart of such a spectacular program.

Katelyn Cardoza is currently a sophomore at Ripon High School. She likes to spend her time getting involved in school or out on the lake. Katelyn tries to join most of the clubs and is thinking about starting one of her own. She is involved in RHS Leadership as the Spirit Publicity Commissioner and loves to show her pride toward her school. At this time, Katelyn wants to change the world and make others happy, She also wants to make Ripon High’s students more spirited and tries to get them involved. Katelyn does many sports but this year she is doing water polo, wrestling, and is deciding if she wants to do softball or track. Once she is done with high school Katelyn wants to go to college and get a wrestling scholarship for 2 years then attend a church mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After this she will go to her dream college, Brigham Young University. When all is done, Katelyn will start a family, travel the world, be in higher leadership positions, and she will see what comes ahead of her.

Troy Brogan is a senior at Ripon High School. His goal for the school year is to maintain straight A's and win a section championship for football and basketball. He is super excited to be with his closest friends for one more year. He is involved in ASB Leadership, Link Crew, Pride Tribe, CSF, football, and basketball. Troy is the Link Crew and Renaissance Coordinator in the leadership class. His goal for the future is to attend Arizona State University and get a degree in data analytics so he can work for the Phoenix Suns organization.

Lydia Waters is a sophomore at Ripon High. Her position in Leadership is Renaissance and Link Crew Coordinator. Her goal for this year is to connect with her fellow students and make a difference. She wants to lead by example to increase the sophomore class spirit. Her favorite part about being in the Tribe is attending sporting events and supporting her fellow students. She competes in Cross Country and Track. Some of the clubs she is involved in are Girls League, Science Olympiad, Pride Tribe, CSF, and Link Crew. She volunteers frequently through her church organization called “Just Serve”. In her future, Lydia wants to attend either UCLA or UC Berkeley with an undergraduate in Political Science. She plans to continue to law school somewhere in California.

Natalie Betoshana is a Senior attending her last year at Ripon High School. Her personal goals for the school year are to not stress, maintain a healthy and peaceful lifestyle, earn a 4.0+ GPA, and to continue growing as an individual her Besides leadership, Natalie is also involved in the United, Block R, Pride Tribe, Yoga, Sacred Heart, Link Crew and CSF clubs on campus. She runs track in the spring and is the Coronation Coordinator all year round. Her job entails her to work closely with Mr. Wright, Gigi, Morty, and Mrs. Ochoa to recognize all seniors involved in sports as well as organizing Homecoming and Winterfest. Natalie is looking forward to her senior prom and experiencing her last Homecoming. Her future plans after high school include going to college, possibly on the beach, and pursuing finance. Natalie wants to change the world one step at a time by smiling at everyone she sees and encourage others to get involved.

Brendan Lan is an aspiring entomologist with a large collection of live & dead invertebrates. He is currently breeding 4 different centipede species, 2 different tarantula species, and a species of tailless whipscorpion. Whenever he has spare time, Brendan loves collecting invertebrates from all over California to nurture, raise, and breed. He is a firm believer in keeping a praying mantid free-roaming his bedroom; they are effective, natural pest control and they keep him company. He has been working as an Entomology Research Collections Volunteer at the California Academy of Sciences where he pins & points countless dead insects. He has also had the pleasures of volunteering at the Oak Grove Nature Center & volunteering at the Annual San Joaquin County Butterfly Count. At school, he is president & founder of the Bug Club, president of Photography Club, a founder of Yoga & Pilates Club, and a member of Korean Culture Club. In addition to these, he is in leadership as the Club Committee Chair wherein he assists clubs wherever & whenever he is needed. This year, he is hoping to forge more connections between clubs as well as more connections between clubs & leadership. Through this, more clubs will participate in activities, rallies, showcases, etc., ultimately creating a more diverse culture at Ripon High School.

Darius Rubianes is one of the technology commissioners this year and is a senior here at Ripon High School. He plans to make the most of his last year in high school by being involved and getting closer to his peers. He also plans to make funny and quality videos for Ripon High. Darius is involved in many clubs, including Photography Club, United Club, Drama Club, Bug Club, Link Crew, Pride Tribe. He is also a part of the tennis team at Ripon High. With his skills in welding and woodworking, Darius has built a roller coaster in his backyard, which a person can ride on. After high school, Darius plans on going to a four-year college, hopefully a UC. He plans on getting a degree in either structural or mechanical engineering. Afterwards, he plans to do something related to amusement park design, and if not that, then designing/constructing buildings and/or bridges.

Elias Herrera is entering his second and last year of Leadership (at Ripon High School, that is), as he is a senior and will be graduating. Elias is excited to show the world the teachings of Jill Mortensen, the activities director at the high school. This year Elias is technology commissioner and he is required to take lots of videos to show at rallies and other public events. He is also in charge of plugging in wires to things and making sure all technology works. Elias says the job is very demanding but will be very rewarding in the end as he likes to hear praise from Jill Mortensen. Another goal would be to bring together the class and the school with the videos he makes. And by “together” he means closer to him because he is always looking to make more friends. If you happen to catch Elias outside of school, you might see him volunteering with the youth or contributing to the town at city hall. As for school functions, he involves himself in Sacred Heart, Science Olympiad, and Multicultural Club. In the future he hopes to do a little bit of everything stated above but on a larger scale of course. He wants to fight for people’s rights, build a better world through design, and demonstrate how cute he is through modeling for sustainable and quality fashion companies on the side.
