The Professional Mock Interview

The Virtual Platform
Step 1: Begin with your students researching three different professions of interest. #1 being your top rated choice. 
     a. For each career choice, write down in a couple sentences           why you would like to pursue this job.
     b. Homework - research EACH position by answering the                 following topics:
        1. How long does it take to earn the degree for your job?                  What kind of degrees/licenses are needed for
            the job?
        2. How much money does this job make?
        3. Where can you find this job offering? Location?
        4. What are some of the duties and responsibilities of your              job?
        5. What classes in high school have helped you prepare                  for the job of interest?

​**NOTE - you should begin looking for professionals in January to be prepare for mock interviews in April

Step 2: Teaching & Writing the Resume and Cover Letter

Step 3: Creating a website for professionals to access information on how to conduct the mock interview and the various tasks & information needed for the student and professional to be successful.
**RHS uses weebly as our platform, free for student use


Step 4: The letter to recruit professionals to participate. Sent via email. 

Step 5: Prepping the Mock Interview paperwork for students to upload onto their site.

Mock Interview Paperwork

1. Cover Letter to Professional discussing aspects to the Event
Helpful tips for students to have a successful interview

2. Student Cover Letter & Resume. Student will need to save as a PDF file to upload to their site. 

3. Student questions prepared and sent to professional. 10 total

4. Bank questions for professional to use along with schedule for the 1/2hr interview.
5. Google form - assessment of student in interview

6. Student complete formal Thank you card for AD to mail after the interview is done. Address of professional only known by AD, not the student.
